These photographs commemorate the attendance of artist Samizu Matsuki at the October 20, 2011 event at the Salmagundi Art Club of New York: "Pioneer Women: First Ladies of the Salmagundi Club." The event honored Matsuki and several others who in 1973 were the first women admitted to the Club since its inception in the 1870s. Soichiro Takei, a representative of Samizu's 1958 alma mater Joshibi Universiity, attended. Thank you everyone who made Samizu's trip possible!
